Overview
Most classrooms on campus are controlled by Extron control panels in order to streamline the user experience. This article focuses on the cubby-style button panels, these are the newer version of the button panel and are found mostly in Calice and Titchener.

Getting started, make sure the cubby is flipped open, it is traditionally located in the rear-center of the lectern (it may be partially behind the computer monitor). The controls are on the interior of the lid and the cubby will usually have a variety of things, such as laptop connections and a power outlet located inside.
User Control
Part 1: Controlling Display Power
On the top-left side of the control panel, you will see the DISPLAY CONTROLS. There will be a separate button for ON and OFF and they will illuminate to indicate the current state of the display.

To turn the display power on or off, you simply press the button with the desired action.
After pressing the button, the system will send the command to the display, and the button will flash for approximately 30 seconds while the action is completed. Once the device is in the desired state, the relevant button will light up.
***Please remember to turn the display off once you are done using it. Leaving them on when not in use drastically reduces the lifespan of the display***
Part 2: Selecting an Input
The 6 buttons on the right of the control panel are the input buttons. The button that is currently illuminated indicates which input is being shown on the display. The specific available inputs and the order that they are in differs from classroom to classroom, so make sure you pay attention to the text on the button.

To select your input, simply press the button labelled with the input you desire. The system will then automatically swap to that input and the button will become illuminated.

Part 3: Volume Control
The Buttons of the bottom left of the control panel are for volume control. Directly above the buttons are a set of 5 lights that indicate the approximate volume level. When all 5 lights are illuminated, the volume is at it's maximum level.

To control the volume, press the left button to decrease volume, and the right button to increase volume. Directly to the right of the volume buttons, there is a button labelled "MUTE" this button will mute the audio. Pressing the MUTE button again will un-mute the audio.
Troubleshooting

ISSUE: The display is powered on, but states no signal
Solution: Please do not attempt to manually change the input or unplug anything. Contact ITS immediately at ext. 5011, email ITSupport@sunybroome.edu, or submit a CSR.
ISSUE: The desired input is illuminated, but it is not showing on the display
Solution: Press the desired input button anyway, the control panel and the switcher occasionally go out of sync. Alternatively, check to confirm that the desired input device is powered on.
ISSUE: There is no sound
Solution: Confirm that the volume on the device is not muted or turned down. The volume should generally be set to max on the device.
ISSUE: There IS sound, but the volume control buttons are not working
Solution: Turn the volume knob up to max, sometimes devices come through the system at a very low volume and cannot be heard if the volume is set too low. Alternatively, press the volume up and down buttons a few times, occasionally the system loses sync with the buttons.
If any of these troubleshooting steps do not solve your problem, please submit a CSR. If the issue is urgent, contact ITS immediately at ext. 5011, or email ITSupport@sunybroome.edu.
