Visio Professional 2021 - Installation Instructions

Summary:

The following instructions are a guide for students to install Visio Professional 2021 on their personal devices as part of being a student at SUNY Broome. Please note the stated prerequisites below before proceeding. Various screenshots will be included below the step they are associated with.

 

Prerequisites:

  • Valid MyCollege login

  • Computer 

  • Administrator privileges

  • Stable internet connection

 

Instructions:

  1. Navigate to the link (https://signup.azure.com/studentverification?offerType=3) and complete the form if you have not already. You will be redirected to Azure Education after verification. 

  2. Under Learning resources, select Software. Then search for Visio.

  1. Select Visio Professional 2021. Click on View Key. Make sure you copy this key and save it for later. Without this key, you will only get a trial period. Then select download.

  1. When the download is completed, open the disk image. A folder will open, run Setup.exe. If you have other Microsoft Office applications open, you will need to close them during the installation. Please wait while the installer runs. 

  1. When the installer has finished, right click on the mounted ISO file and eject it. You can now delete the ISO file from where you downloaded it.

  1. Restart your computer 

  2. Run Visio. It should automatically request the product key you saved earlier. Paste the product key in and click Activate Office.

  3. You are now ready to use Visio Professional 2021.
